Keeping bees, or living alongside them, often comes with questions. Sometimes you just need calm, practical advice from someone who understands bees and how they behave.

At Bluey Creek, we offer beekeeping mentoring and practical hive support for those seeking thoughtful, ethical guidance. This service is suited to new beekeepers, as well as those looking to upskill, refresh their knowledge, or have a helping hand during hive inspections and seasonal management.

We work alongside you to build understanding through observation and hands-on learning, supporting calm, informed decision-making that prioritises hive health and bee welfare.

Our approach is grounded in observation and restraint. We focus on understanding what the bees are doing, why they may be behaving a certain way, and what options are available, prioritising bee welfare wherever possible.

Support may include queen spotting, swarm prevention guidance, seasonal hive management, and practical help with both Flow Hive set-ups and traditional Langstroth hives. We also offer calm problem-solving for common hive concerns and ongoing mentoring for those learning to keep bees with care and intention.

We can help with:

• Hive inspections and learning what to look for at each stage of the season
• Queen identification and understanding brood patterns
• Assessing hive health, strength and behaviour
• Swarm prevention and management within existing hives
• Flow Hive set-ups and management
• Traditional Langstroth hive support
• Pest management
• Building confidence in calm, ethical beekeeping practices

Pricing: Base mentoring sessions are priced at $80 per hour. Final cost may vary depending on time required and travel. Please contact us to discuss your needs and how we can help.
